Let's say that a function f(x) = x^.5 (square root of x) is graphed on
the coordinate axes and that a line p is drawn from the origin to
(x,y) where x is the number whose square root is being derived and y
is that number.
How does one estimate the slope of the line p as it moves along the
curve graphed by f(x) = x^.5?
