The Security Service (MI5) is responsible for protecting the United
Kingdom against threats to national security.

I think we need to help this guy. I think they locked him up with a
cheap old laptop and AOL dial-up internet access. That combination is
enough to drive anyone insane!!! :)
Reading a little bit more on their site and you will notice they only
want to frustrate certain things instead of stopping them.
Stop, or I will blow my whistle!!!
Our cor****ate aims are therefore to:
frustrate terrorism;
prevent damage to the UK from foreign espionage and other covert
foreign state activity;
frustrate procurement by proliferating countries of material,
technology or expertise relating to weapons of mass destruction;
watch out for new or re-emerging types of threat;
protect Government's sensitive information and assets, and the
Critical National Infrastructure (CNI);
reduce serious crime through assistance to law enforcement agencies;
assist the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) and the Government
Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in the discharge of their statutory
functions;
build Service capability and resilience.
