Right now most users think all these viruses and trojans are computer
problems, not Windows problems. I think Gnome and KDE are easily good
enough for most users, and as more hardware is sold running Linux the
installed base will start to realize they can still be able to do the
stuff they did before, only for less money because Linux is free. Over
time, free will always win.
There will always be fan boys and zealots, but in general people won't
care about the operating system on their computers any more than they do
about the ones on their cell phones.
