DSL is hooked through the phone line, but it's not dialup and is much
faster than dialup.  Depends on the cable or DSL provider.  I've seen
cable
services that only offer 128Kbs.  I've also seen cable providers that
offer
2Mbs or more.  Some cable providers base your download speed on how much
you pay for the service, which is what mine does.  So, you can pay more to
have a faster service or less and have slower.
