I started using "mini conputers" with "massive" 5 MB removable hard drive
platters and *core* memory when I was 20 though. I've always missed the
elegance of Data General's command line tools, so when I started using
Linux for work it didn't take long to appreciate the power. Now it's my
main home OS for video editing and just about everything a home user uses
a PC for including gaming (and yes I compile my own kernels). I still
can't do things I could do with Data General's command line though (mostly
I miss being able to write scripts that could say, search for certain file
types, pass the filenames to a file then use the file as a replacement for
command-line input to other tools - maybe it's possible in bash but I
haven't figured it out if it is).

Guess this is as good a place as any and it's sure an appropriate day, to
say "Thanks Linus and all open source developers, you rock".
