minimum-security federal prison that was a country club as far as prisons
go. She sat with her uncle on a picnic table in a prison that had no
walls
or obvious guards while he took calls on a cell phone. The prisoners were
allowed to use a golf course that was adjoining. As she was visiting her
uncle a bus of kids from the inner city of Philadelphia arrived as part of
the ³Scared Straight² program. It is outrageous that they would bring
poor
city kids to this garden-party-prison in order to frighten them out of a
life on drugs, but I can easily see how it was arranged as prisoner
participation in such programs can be helpful in getting sentence
reductions..."
