The fallacy in that statement has been pointed out to you before.
An "F" is not scored as 60 points.
The number of points actually earned is recorded, and if it is less than
60 (or
some other threshold) then the equivalent letter grade for that assignment
is an
"F".
Also, the only way in my experience, to earn a zero for an assignment is
to fail
to turn in anything. Are you saying that there are cir***stances under
which we
should absolve the child from any attempt at all? If a child finds it too
stressful to perform even at that level, then I would have doubts about
allowing
them to travel to school and back unsupervised.
