Call For Paper: International Conference on Web-Based Learning (ICWL 2007)

The 6th International Conference on Web-based Learning (ICWL 2007)

15-17 August 2007, University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom

We are pleased to announce that the 6th International Conference on
Web-based Learning (ICWL 2006), organized by the Hong Kong Web Society
(HKWS) to be held in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, a beautiful city full
of culture and history. ICWL is an annual international conference on
web-based learning. The first ICWL was held in Hong Kong in 2002.
Since then, it has been held in Australia (2003), China (2004), Hong
Kong (2005), and Malaysia (2006). The technical program will feature
keynote addresses, tutorials, and special sessions, in addition to
technical presentations of refereed papers. Further details will be

Areas of interest will include but not limited to the following:
 - e-Learning Platforms and Tools
 - Web-based Learning for Oriental Languages
 - Mobile e-learning
 - Learning Resource Deployment, Organization and Management
 - Design, Model and Framework of E-learning Systems
 - E-learning Standards
 - Practice and Experience Sharing
 - Pedagogical Issues

In addition to the regular papers, there is also a special session on
Security and Privacy and a workshop on Blended Learning.

Paper Submissions:
Authors are invited to submit original papers re****ting on research
results or novel applications in web-based learning. Papers for
submissions should be formatted in single column, 1.5 spacing of no
more than 20 pages for review. All papers should be submitted in PDF
format. Submission details will be announced in the conference web
site in due course.  The conference proceedings will be published as a
volume in Lecture Notes in Computer Science (tentatively).

Full paper submission deadline:  March 1, 2007

Special Issues:
Authors of the best papers accepted by and presented in this
conference that are relevant to knowledge and data engineering will be
invited to submit extended version of their papers for possible
publication in a special issue of IEEE Trans. on Knowledge and Data
Engineering and a special issue of International Journal of Distance
Education Technologies (JDET).
