Fraternities Dying Out

by d0orman@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Emin) Apr 1, 2004 at 10:27 AM

I'm a member of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity at St. John's University, and
the last couple of years it seems like less and less people are
interested in joining fraternities. I think it is because of MTV's
fraternity life. The show a bunch of dubm pledges and brothers hazing,
and a bunch of hazing. But they don't show the benefits of
fraternities, they don't show you the connections that you get, or the
friends that you make. We also lost the romantic mystery factor that
we use to have. Before, nobody knew what happened in the fraternity
except for those brothers, now people have a general idea of what's
going on, not the right idea, but enough to satisfy their curiousity.
Also we have been getting guys who ***** out after a week or so
because it takes up too much of their time. Ahh well.
