My library recently subscribed to Ancestry.com Library Edition.
Initially, I was thrilled, but now . . .
Computer time is limited to one hour, so that's kind of a pain, since
it takes me almost that long just to get to the library in the first
place.
But today everything was working fine and I finally got some stuff
done. We can't save images, but they told us to email them to
ourselves -- so that's what I did.
When I got home, I found out it wasn't the image I received in my
email, but a link. Okay so far, but when I tried to view the third
link, it said I had to register for a paid account (with the first two
weeks free).
When I tried to save the first two do***ents that I *could* access, I
was met with another registration screen.
Am I just expecting too much? Is the library edition just another way
to find out where to write to get this stuff in the first place? Do
you print and take it home and scan it? That seems silly. Am I
missing something obvious here?
Thanks
