I have had this problem also, and it drives me crazy.  This has only 
appeared in the last few months with me, at least.

This tip from someone else has helped me (but I use IE):

Go into your browser from scratch---do not click an ancestry icon.
Type in www.ancestry.com  and go to the site.

From my experience, you may have to do this more than once during the time

you are doing your ancestry work.
