Ahh! I can remember the days back at LSU when while "studying" I would
listen to the Del Rio, Texas station which had its transmitter in Mexico.
They played a lot of Gospel music as well as having all sorts of
hucksters.
I can remember listening to Sister Rosetta Tharpe pound out her lyrics.

My roommate used to imitate the hucksters. One of his  best routines was
to hawk, "And for a donation of just five dollars, I will send you a piece
of the Original Cross! Something you will cherish forever!"

Not having five dollars to spare, I never did get a piece of  the cross.
