My question is: did you search in Ancestry.com and/or Heritage Quest or
did
you look at the microfilms in your Pennsylvania library? My local library
has the microfilms of all the census records for all parishes in
Louisiana.
(They even have a few from neighboring states which were purchased by
patrons and donated to the library.) My thinking is that perhaps not ALL
of
the census records have been transcribed by those firms. Also, in
searching
Ancerstry.com thru my local library, I could not find a particular part of
a
parish (county) - when I accidentally checked the previous
(alphabetically)
parish, I found the records at the end of that parish. They had been
mis-filed as part of another parish!

It is also possible that, for whatever reason, the enumerators failed to
include certain neighborhoods they were canvassing. Perhaps they thought
another enumerator was to cover them, or they just didn't bother to finish
their task.

On the other hand, I have found one instance where a neighborhood was
enumerated by the canvassers from two different parishes! I suppose that
one
(or both) of them was not certain of the dividing line. The information on
both was almost identical (and made a couple of names which were not too
legible on one more readable!)

Another possibility exists that the firm(s) who microfilmed the original
records merely failed to include all of them.

If you give us some names, etc., perhaps someone in the Group can locate
them for you in 1920 records. <g>
