Census help - Gillette

by tootncmon@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Jul 22, 2008 at 01:39 PM

(1) The one grandparent that I actually knew died in 1947. He is: Daniel
Clayborn Gillette b. 1872 in Arkansas.

I found him in 1880, but, I cannot find him in 1900. He had been widowed
and his son, James, b.1896, is there in an aunt's household. Grandpa
shows up again in 1910, as posted earlier the entire family is missing
in 1920, and he reappears in 1930. All sightings are in Clark County,
Arkansas.

There is a Daniel C Gillette in Clark County, Arkansas in 1900, but that
is his father, born 1842, died 1905.

(2) James N Gillette, my father's eldest brother, the one found in 1900
with an aunt. I found him in 1910 and in no census after that. He was
married by 1920, I think, was possibly in Pulaski county, Arkansas, died
in Chicago in 1959. (I have the dc). I did find him in a city directory
of Little Rock.

His son James Jr. b. 1921, I have son's ss-5, died 1974 (doing this from
memory, but I have his dc also). He also had a daughter, Mildred, no
other info known, and I'm not sure if she's older/younger than the son.
I never met Uncle James or his children.
