Re: Canadian newspaper covers Toki Pona

by Emelano <owenfish@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 20, 2007 at 06:35 AM

Some of those reader comments remind me of when newspapers ran
articles on "Dungeons & Dragons" and other Role Playing Games over 20
years ago. There were those who would sup****t the idea, those who
strongly opposed it and those with no clue who would jump to
completely the wrong conclusions. There are always people in society
who do not understand motives for radical (and lateral) thinking, and
there will always be those who just like the sound of their own voices
whether or not they can say anything constructive. Coming from a
Canadian newspaper, I am surprised this article was met with such a
large percentage of apathetic commentators. I always thought Canada,
as culturally diverse and linguistically mixed as it is (English,
French, Native American and other Immigrant languages taken into
consideration) people up there would be more open to the idea of
imagination and alternative thinking.
