to range from five to nine percent of school-aged children, though

The dyseidetic (visual or surface) subtype is associated with
inability to develop a sight word vocabulary, slow and laborious
reading as familiar words must be repeatedly deciphered, and
unconventional but highly phonetic spelling. Boder re****ted that
approximately 10% of her subjects exhibited this pattern, with an
additional 22% showing a "mixed" type with elements of both the
dyseidetic and dysphonetic forms.

It seems that this may be a problem for about 1% of the population.
Maybe they need a special font?

I looked upside-down at the sample of Ygyde text written in Ygyde
font:

It is easy to tell that the text is upside down because some Ygyde
glyphs do not have mirror equivalents.

There is much more to Ygyde than its fonts. The basic idea defining
Ygyde is that you learn Ygyde by memorizing a few rules rather than by
memorizing thousands of words.
