Normally you would read a clump of symbols clockwise, starting at the
point of attachment to some other clump. The double bond indicates that
you have to read part of the clump clockwise and part
counter-clockwise.

This is not a fully-developed idea. Don't expect to see a translation
of Shakespeare in this writing system any time soon.
