Spelling Reforms

by julia@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Julia) Sep 2, 2004 at 05:39 AM

Hi all!

Lingva Prismo (http://www.lingvo.info/?lingvo=en)
is a multilingual
website for and about languages. Each month we discuss different
current linguistic issues in our forum "Topic of the Month"
and we were wondering if
anyone would be interested in contributing to our debate.

Our "Topic of the Month" for September:

Example: The German spelling reform, agreed by German speaking
countries in 1996 has caused quite a large amount of controversy since
its introduction. Despite this mass simplification of the language the
general public, publi****ng companies & various politicians have
protested against the reform to the brink of reversal.

Therefore our September question is:
Does it make sense to employ a spelling reform?

We hope to hear from you in our forum!
