Re: Origin of the word "chehra" ?

by abhaytri@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Feb 1, 2007 at 09:00 AM

chehra is a persian word meaning the face. Most probably its an
application of word chehar which means four. Since face too has
roughly four sides. to give another evidence in hindi a word that is
used for face is chaukhata... literally meaning something that has
four sides.
