Hindi word of the day and Daily Learn Hindi podcast

by GadgetNate <nathan.price@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 13, 2008 at 07:06 PM

I have been trying (still trying to actually) learn Hindi. I am sure
that this is the case with a lot of people, but I have no excuse, I
have lived with a Hindi teacher for the past 9 years, my wife also
knows Hindi, and many of my co-workers know Hindi. I have lots of
Hindi books and "learn Hindi" CDs. And I think I am reasonable
intelligent. So, what is the problem? Long enough time with enough
resources... I should be a master by now?

My problem is that I would study very intensely for a week or two and
then I would loose interest. It would be as long as six months before
I started again. By that time, I would have to relearn the little
that I knew.

Well, I got this idea. If I had to do something with Hindi in a
public way everyday, then I would be forced to learn the language. It
hasn't quite worked out that way, but I am further along than I have
ever been before. And I feel that this year might be the break
through year.

We have been doing this "Daily Learn Hindi Podcast" since July 2007.
It has not quite worked out to be daily, but we are trying hard to get
back on track. You can see it at http://www.ISpeakHindi.com
 It is
between a 5-15 minute daily program where we cover Hindi. So far, it
has been very basic Hindi. The show will advance as I advance or as
we get additional people to help us out. (Don't worry, I have a
fluent Hindi speaker on each program that makes sure the words get
pronounced correctly.)

Here are some of the "better" sessions from 2007:

Also, our team and services have expanded. Just this past week, we
started a "word of the day" program. You can see what we have so far
at http://www.ispeakhindi.com/category/****pras-word-of-the-day/

If you are interested, you can also subscribe to the shows to have
them delivered in your mail box. You can do this through the front
page (http://www.ISpeakHindi.com)
or through this link

Feel free to email me with any suggestions you have on how to improve
the show at nathan@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
