The files themselves are OK - I've just been through the lot, successfully
opening them from their tabulated URLs into Adobe Reader 6 (through my own
preference is for the less bloated Foxit Reader:

I suggest trying different download methods until you find one that works.
There never was a cat with only one way to skin it!
You could also try the old directory where some of the files still linger
on, though this is due for the chop as I've busted my personal cyberspace
