GETTING BACK ON THE ROAD
Valentine's Day
They thought that I was crazy.
Sending an E-greeting
To myself.
Why is Valentine's Day
All about the other person
That you love
When that other person
Can be yourself?
Most of us as children
Were taught
To please others
Like a welcome mat
Where people wipe their feet.
Now psychologist talk about
Self-Esteem
Self confidence
Which is very hard to achieve.
In this busy world
Working fifty hour
Work days
With children.
Spending five house
A night
Chatting on the Internet
Watching TV
And pleasing others.
No time for self love.
I went on the road
To self love
Only to take a detour
To the busy-ness of life.
Now I have to get back
On it
Stay on it.
To achieve inner peace.
