've actually got 2 questions relating to this:

(1) --- I use Outlook Express on Windows XP for both mail and news.
Although I can receive and view Arabic script and can successfully send
Arabic script (via cut & paste) to an email destination, this does not
seem
to be the case with Newsgroups.
See, for example, my reply (as well as 123's) reply to AM's pet-shop
message: in both cases, even though I choose the option to view Arabic
script in the View menu, the Arabic script remains a string of question
marks.
Does anyone know why this is the case? Does anyone know how to work
around
this?
(2) Noting that the Arabic script remained a string of question marks, I
tried to post the Arabic in .jpg form as an attachment. The result: my
message was never even posted. One would have thought that posting a .jpg
to a newsgroup would have been fairly easy.
Does anyone know why I was not able to post the .jpg?
Since this is a Newsgroup devoted to Arabic language issues, it'd be more
than handy to be able to include Arabic script in postings, so I'd really
appreciate learning how to do this. Thanks.

the model that you've used for translation of Pet Shop into other
languages (on the order of "Everything for Animals"), the best way to
translate this concept into Arabic would be the following (using Roman
letters):
kullu haajaat lil-hayawaanaat
In Arabic , this would be written: (even with Arabic encoding view on your
system you may not be able to read this correctly, so I am also attaching
the written Arabic in the form of a .jpg attachment --- let's hope that at
least one of them is viewable)
?? ????? ?????????
