EL (also appearing as AL, UL, or IL depending on the transliteration =
system, grammatical function, or even the dialect being represented) can =
be translated into English in two ways, depending on the context:

(1) "the" (as Arboi pointed out in his example: el kitab =3D the book)
or=20
(2) "of the" (as in kitab el walad =3D the book of the boy)

as far as "pel, sel, or ol" is concerned, I have no idea.  "pel" would =
not even be an arabic word, since there is no "p" in arabic...
