"Foreign" meaning what?  Not Thai?  Not of the teacher's nationality? 
Not English?

I holidayed in Rayong once.  Is it there that there is a statue of
Sunthorn Phu?

How does one spell "holidayed"?  'Tisn't in the SOED.
