0.2 Limitations and Suggestions
As a tentative study on the implicit language planning of
cyberlanguage, the present research also has certain limitations in
the following aspects:
First of all, cyberlanguage, as a great, systematic and totally new
phenomenon of present language, it needs more researches from lots of
viewpoints on it, such as the classification of it needs more
consideration too. The classification employed in the present thesis
is not a perfect one as well. In this way, the present classification
may affect the results of our analysis on the implicit language
planning. So, we can say that the present classification of the
cyberlanguage still needs a more scientific one, so as to get a more
scientific result.
Secondly, the implicit language planning is very complicated and
systemic. It relates to not only the cyberlanguage but also many other
varieties of a language, such as the dialect, taboos, idioms and so
on. As long as there are lots of words are not accepted as the
official language by the governmental agency, such as the Dictionary
of Contem****ary Chinese, there may have the process of implicit
language. So, the present thesis needs to extend its research object
so as to obtain a more satisfying result.
Thirdly, the implicit language planning is not the patent of the high
school student. In fact, to some extent, everyone is affecting our
language, so everyone is planning our language unconsciously. Being
aware of this complexity of the situation, the author does not and has
no ability to attempt to cover all of these subjects. So, the author
only takes hundreds of the graduates as the research subjects to give
a plain study of the implicit language. At present, for the author to
cover so many walks of life and so many varieties of language, it
would be too difficult to do so. It needs a great deal of fund and an
abundance of sup****ts from too many parts of our society, including
certain government sup****t. So, it is hoped that the further study
should try to cover more aspects of the issue and reveal the implicit
language planning in a more systematic and convincing way.
On the whole, this research, which seems very superficial, is quite
preliminary in nature, in the field of the research of language
planning. However, more in-depth researches about the implicit
language planning and explicit language planning are still necessary
for the healthy development of language. In this area, sup****ted by
more linguists and more researches are likely to shed further light on
this subject.
