As far as I know "un rabatteur" is another word for "un traqueur", which
means a "beater"; the helping hand at a hunt who chases the animals from
the brushwood towards the hunters.
So I assume in a figurative sense it is meant not as the madam of a
brothel, but as a bawd or procuress. En francais: "une entremetteuse".
