Pimsleur language course and pronunciation

by Mark <mark> Jan 23, 2004 at 10:59 AM

I have two questions for an irish-speaking person:

#1 I'm using the Pimsleur Irish language course. Is what they teach
accurate? I used Pimsleur's course to learn some basic Korean a few
months back, and when in Korea, the locals told me what I was speaking
was very old and outdated "nobody talks like that" they said.

#2 I don't know how to write it in Irish, but the language course
sometimes pronounces certain words with an 'S' sound instead of a 'T'
sound, for example "Agut" is pronounced "Agus" sometimes. Is this a
dialect thing?

Thanks!
