Dia Duith, A Chairde,
I am sorry I am not able to ask my question in Gaeilge here, but if I was,
the question itself would have no reason to exist, actually...! So,
cutting
the chase: I am Italian, I know as much of the Gaelic language as my
long-time Irish friends could teach me over the years (so basically some
toasts over pints o' stou' and similar stuff, and as much as I can retain,
every time I come back over to Dublin ;-), but I truly love it (and I
consider Dublin as a mother land more than I do about Italy), so I would
like to write one sentence in Gaelic on the first page of my thesis (which
is due next Friday). So that's the thing:
"As well as glasses clink to bring all our senses to life, my soul will
always roam back to you (singular) to feel fully alive."
The /you/ (singular!) refers to Ireland, and to each one of my im****tant
friends up there, personally.
I don't know whether it is possible to render that in Gaelic, but, it
being
the poetic and imaginific language that it is, I guess so...
If any of you would be so kind to translate it for me, I would be
genuinely
grateful (besides, obviously, mentioning them the active collaboration in
the ackowledgements page! :). Obviously, not only literal translations are
welcome!
Thank you all in advance, and stay safe.

Frances
