Er, it might very well be, in fact. What I had in mind was "in the same
manner as gl***** clink ..., so my soul...", and I didn't really know
exactly how to say it in english! As far as I know, "as long as" has a
different meaning... but you are the native speaker here :), so I rest my
case.
