As far as I know, that's correct.

I thought I'd never understand the difference in counting/counting

Fadas are easily printed out, but you just have to know the "code." If you
press the <Alt> key, then type numbers into the keypad at the right of
your
keyboard, then release the <Alt> key, you get different characters. The
numbers you need for Irish are:
á = <Alt>-160;
Á = <Alt>-0193;
é = <Alt>-130;
É = <Alt>-0201;
í = <Alt>-161;
Í = <Alt>-0205;
ó = <Alt>-162;
Ó = <Alt>-0211
ú = <Alt>-163;
Ú = <Alt>-0218.

I hope that eases the frustrations a little.
