The pronunciation you describe is the standard pronunciation.

My dialect (Donegal) is slightly different - for us the "ee" sound is 
represented in this context by "aoi", and the "ao" sound as in "glaoch" 
is a diphthong pronounced "GLAY-ukh" and "saor" is "SAY-ur", where the 
sound represented by "u" is very short.
