The place is called Tír na nÓg (the Land of the Young - usually 
trsanslated as the land of Youth), but Leprechauns, the Little People, 
didn't come from there, being indigenous to Ireland where they guard 
buried treasure and keep their own crock of gold at the end of the
rainbow.

However according to Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl novels the word is the 
acronym for a fairy police unit that comes from the centre of the earth.
