I have been thinking about this for a while, and now I must say I'm sorry
but I have to disagree with the notion that numbers are something other
than
a way of measuring/counting stuff.
Mankind can quantify {one, a couple, a few, many}. Numbers are a
refinement
of quantity, and nothing else. I can have 5 grapes, 5 pounds of grapes, 5
dollars worth of grapes, grapes that reflect light in the 5nm frequency
band, or grapes decending through a liquid at a rate of 5m/s^2.
