Need help with a problem, is this a place to ask?

Trying to help a friend working on a GED test, they ran into a question
using 
the distance formula. The length of the line was given as were 3 of its 4 
coordinates, and the problem was to find the unknown point.

Graphing it out was easy, but is there a way to do it strictly using the 
distance formula?
