Oh, you're right, halving the diameter to get the radius.  Still,
assuming that decoding your meaning is not intended to be part of the
puzzle, this would have more clearly expressed as
  pi*h*r^2 = pi * 5 * [sqrt(18^2+5^2)/2]^2
and then progressing to
           = pi * 5 * (18^2+5^2)/4

The next question:
