You HAVE to keep good thoughts.
You teach kiddies and I teach young adults and up.
I teach computers. Your reward lies in small victories. Like the girl
(19 YOA) who came into my class afraid to talk to anyone. Every
computer lab that went bad was"... because she was stupid..."
By the end of the courses, though, she was not ony better technically,
but she got in the face of a resident male chauvanist who told her
she'd never get it to work, and she actually backed him down, bet him
$5 she would, and won!
Or another student who had a conversation I overheard with his friend
who told him he could get a "...Gateway with..." blahblahblah, etc for
so many dollars.
He told his buddy "Why would you do that. Just build your own!"
Maybe doesn't seem like much, but it counts for me!
And like Tonio K says "They deal out happiness minute by minute and
they deal out sorrow in lifetimes."
So you gotta grab the small victories. You ain't gonna change the
world. Just shoot for one small corner at a time.
