Re: Campaign to Make Poverty History in This Generation!

We are all interconnected. Ignoring those who starve to death while
tons of food rots, while we stuff our faces and get obese is inhumane
and insane. All that unnecessary suffering has a very negative impact
on all of us, though most are blind to it. Our 6.7 billion member
family is very dysfunctional. The days of our dark ignorance,
complacency and selfishness are numbered. They will pass.

Besides that, much of the extreme poverty in Third world nations is
because of the insanely high foreign debts that they have. They should
just refuse to pay them. They give millions to multi-billionaires who
pushed the loans on them - while their people starve to death.

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man: How the U.S. Uses Globalization to
Cheat Poor Countries Out of Trillions

http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=04/12/31/1546207

Watch/Listen to an hourlong interview with John Perkins, a former
respected member of the international banking community. In his book
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man he describes how as a highly paid
professional, he helped the U.S. cheat poor countries around the globe
out of trillions of dollars by lending them more money than they could
possibly repay and then taking over their economies. John Perkins
describes himself as a former economic hit man - a highly paid
professional who cheated countries around the globe out of trillions of
dollars.
