You may well be right that it is inhumane and insane.

And it is precisely for these reasons that it is im****tant to win round
our
politicians to take appropriate action. But you will not do so by talking
of
inhumanity and insanity. You need a pragamatic strategy. You have to make
politicians see that change is in fact in the interests of Western states.

But how can we show this?

The reality is that it is in the political and economic interests of
Western
states to keep the under-developed peoples poor. You yourself recognise
that
refusing to pay their foreign debts would hurt Western states? But then if
these peoples did refuse to pay, no Western state would ever lend them
money
again. So that strategy doesn't work.

What would you do?
