The Christian Church need not worry.
Not only is there no existence of a holy grail, in the form a relic
that Jesus drank from, but the facts behind the fiction book 'The Da
Vinci Code' are misinterpretations of lies. The idea of a dish, plate
or cup that Jesus drank from came to existence through Gothic romance
and literature in the 12th and 13th century. For the most part it was
idle speculation by French writers. The idea of royal blood was caused
by a mistranslation and false etymology. Only after the Grail fiction
books were established, there was a confusion of san grial (meaning
'Holy Grail') and sang rial (meaning 'Royal Blood'). This connection
(however false) was investigated by modern day conspiracy writers such
as Dan Brown. The Priory of Sion is a sophisticated hoax. It was
formed by a French surrealist known as Pierre Plantard. All the
alleged grand masters (Da Vinci himself, Debussy(??)) were found to
have been concocted by Plantard, and Cherisey (a friend) The claims to
the throne that Plantard had arranged were also false. It was even
named after the nearby mountain where Plantard grew up. A French court
ordered a search of home, and found some interesting finds that French
researchers had been trying to prove for the last decade or so. Under
oath, Plantard admitted to he had fabricated everything to do with the
Priory.
