Using TV shows to teach ESL

by FancyL.uke@[EMAIL PROTECTED] May 22, 2008 at 08:10 AM

Hi all,

I'm an English teacher in Japan, working at a small, private school.
Part of the job is creating new possible cl***** that would be
interesting and fun for students. I had the idea of building a class
around American TV shows. I'm sure I could handle the logistics of it
(planning and whatnot), but I'm unsure about the legal ramifications
of it.

If I purchase a DVD box set of 'Friends', am I able to show episodes
in class on a regular basis. Since students are paying for this class,
it seems iffy. Any ideas?

Thanks.
