Overcoming one's disgust in looking at serious injuries and surgery in mammals

by Thomas Levine <thomas.levine@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 24, 2007 at 08:31 PM

I've always hated looking at injured or deformed mammals. I always
find it disgusting, and sometimes I imagine the injury happening to
me. This includes watching surgery.

Because this disgust seems totally irrational and because I find
anatomy quite interesting, I would like to overcome this reluctance to
look at injured mammals.

Does anyone have any better ways to do this than watching a video of a
dissection or a surgery? Does anyone think watching the operation in
person would be more effective? Does anyone have any recommendations
of a particular video to watch?
