 which is why there is now an essay component to the SATs. one 
of my former high school teachers used to be an SAT essay 
reader... he gave it up though, because the essays were not 
what the student actually thought or knew, but always what the 
student thought the reader wanted to see. 
 i found college to be, well, odd. i was expecting it to be 
harder than high school, but in many ways it was easier, 
mostly because it *was* a lot of writing essays & term papers, 
and there was so much more lead time to get them done. i was 
also expecting to finally meet teachers that were smarter than 
me. that didn't happen either :p
