mountains of Western North Carolina, Stone Mountain School is an
innovative therapeutic boarding school for ADHD, LD, and NLD boys ages
11-17. SMS provides world-class interventions in and out of the
classroom utilizing adventure therapy, equine therapy, and a state-of-
the-art academic team with assistive technology.
As a Field Instructor you will provide the students with structure &
consistency so that they will learn independent living skills. SMS
offers two distinctive employment op****tunities: adventure &
residential. Adventure staff will facilitate backpacking, climbing,
bouldering, flat water canoeing, trail work, & other wilderness
activities. Residential staff will sup****t the students while on
campus doing service projects, school work, athletic events, day trips
to local areas, & other creative experiences.
SMS is looking for confident, flexible & enthusiastic leaders to be
part of an innovative team. High School diploma or GED required.
College level courses in social sciences preferred. First Aid/CPR,
lifeguard, wilderness first responder certificates a plus. BA/BS
degree ideal, experience may substitute. Request at least a one year
commitment.
