I am an aspiring teacher and working adult with a BA in journalism who is
seeking a list of states which offer provisional teacher certification to
people with college degrees in something other than education. In short, I
am
looking for programs that offer a structured shortcut to classroom
teaching and
help including mentoring, financing for obtaining a Masters degree in
education
and other help.
I have a passion to teach but I need a teaching job to pay the bills while
I
gain experience. Chicken and egg kind of thing. I have worked as a
frequent
substitute teacher in Georgia for two school years and now it is time to
go for
the full monty.
I already know about the programs in Georgia and Teach For America and am
applying to those. What I seek are other similar programs for states other
than
Georgia.
Any help and specifically links to appropriate web sites will be much
appreciated.
