Rumour is HEINZE Institute of Applied Computer Technology is
experiencing severe financial problems. The new accountant Ken Tuck is
rumored to specialize in cor****ate insolvency.
Rumour is that Canada Student Loans is monitoring the school's
finacial situation.
Fact: Instructors pay checks have bounced. Last payday employee's were
paid by a bank money order.
Fact: Employee benefits have been cancelled because the school has not
remitted either the employee payroll deductions or the employer's
share to Sun Life. This cancellation was made by Sun Life without
notice to the employees of Heinze Institute of Applied Computer
Technology. Benefits were cancelled some months ago, yet the school
continued to deduct premiums from employee's pay checks.
Fact: Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 4617 is involved in a
bitter dispute with Heinze Institue of Applied Computer Technology.
Unfair labor practices have been filed with the Labor Relations Board.
Some have already been resolved, others are pending.
