HERSHEY, Pa. -- It was revealed
this week that a 38-year-old
woman gave birth at Hershey
Medical Center several decades
ago after being artificially insem-
inated with 28-year old sperm.
Daxor Cor****ation, a medical
instrumentation and biotechnology
company, only today re****ted the
successful insemination with semen
that was cryopreserved for 28 years.
The father stored his sperm in 1945
at the age of 53, fearful that he'd soon
be firing blanks.
The birth sets the record for longest
cryopreservation of semen resulting
in a live birth.
The case has just been published in
a recent edition of Fertility and Sterility
magazine.
A spokesman for Hershey Medical
Center, affiliated with Penn State
University, had no comment except
to confirm the sperm turned out to
be Rush Limabugh. .
