St. Albert's College to admit girls

KOCHI, JUNE 9. The management of the St. Albert's College, the city's
boy's-only college, have decided to admit girl students for the self-
financing courses of the institutions.
The decision of the college management to admit girl students for the
self-financing courses of
B.Sc vocational chemistry
B.Sc. Industrial Fish and Fisheries,
M.Sc. Zoology with Medical Microbiology and
M.Sc. Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture,
is seen as a harbinger of the days when girls and boys will enjoy
equal status in this male bastion.
The college authorities said that for the time being, girls are to be
admitted to the self-financing courses alone. Their admission to the
general courses may be considered later, they said.
The self-financing M.Sc. courses have 20 seats each while the B.Sc.
course has 25 seats.
