LR ratios

by Thais Minett <thaisminett@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 13, 2008 at 02:27 PM

Dear all,
Which is the most appropriate statistics to use: LR+ or LR- ?:
I estimated the pre natal RH by sampling the mother's blood using 2
test (exon 7 and exon 10) and compared the results to the gold
standard which is the RH in the new born.
I want to know which estimative (exon 7 or 10) is the most
appropriate. As far as I understood I should look at the LR, but which
one?
Many thanks,
Tha=EDs

 Exon 7
     Accuracy (%) 95,1
     Sensitivity (%) 98,7
     Specificity(%) 84,0
     PPV(%) 95,1
     NPV(%) 95,4
     LR+ 6,2
     LR- 0,02

      Exon 10
     Accuracy (%) 94,1
     Sensitivity (%) 94,9
     Specificity(%) 92,0
     PPV(%) 94,8
     NPV(%) 85,1
     LR+ 11,9
     LR- 0,06
