I'd like to respond in full to Luke's message because many things are
just plain wrong about it, however I have 2 papers to write.

>"In fact, seniors live in an old (beachfront) luxury hotel that the
college owns."

This isn't true. The beach front "luxury hotel" you're speaking of is
College Hall. It's one of the Ringling's old properties and it has
classrooms (although it is very pretty). Overall the dorms are
extremely nice - much better than you could hope for at UCF or
similar schools.

>"I didn't see any cute girls, either."
There are a lot of good looking girls on campus, but there is a
spectrum just like in any other school.

> "the fact that there are no grades seems like it might be a little hard
to get into the more selective grad schools, no matter what admissions
says."
> "It really didn't look like academics were the most im****tant thing on
some of the kids minds."
> " Now, I'm sure that there are very dedicated students that go there,
that are clean, sober, etc., but the impression that I came away with was
of lots of partying."

These are plain wrong. With the loose academic system here, it lets
students become extremely involved in their work and allows students
to be creative (on the other side of the coin, it makes it so that you
can easily fail if you let yourself - if that's the case this isn't
your kind of school). Some of the most motivated students I've ever
met are here, and alumni have gone on to Ivy Leagues.

Yes, there are parties. If there weren't any, students would spiral
into depression as I've seen in other schools with large workloads:
they are a great way to blow steam off on a weekend. I am sorry you
saw the aftermath of a wall in Palm Court: that was evidently a bad
host for the event, usually they stay late and make sure to clean up
everything. Keep in mind lots of junk is usually left by townies who
don't care about the campus like the students do.

Anyways, enough procrastination: come visit NCF and hopefully you will
like it.
